Dr. Silvia Beimfohr received her undergraduate degree in chemistry from Millersville University in Millersville, Pennsylvania.  She graduated from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1977.  Dr. Beimfohr’s first residency training was in Family Medicine at St. Michael Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  She was board certified in Family Medicine in l980 and recertified in l986.  As part of the Indian Health Service, Dr. Beimfohr worked on the Gila Indian Reservation in Sacaton, Arizona from l980 to l982.

Because of great interest in women’s health and a desire to practice obstetrics, Dr. Beimfohr completed a second residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.  She was initially board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology in l988, recertified in l997 and has been fulfilling the annual maintenance certification process since 2000.

Dr. Beimfohr is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists.

Dr. Beimfohr has been in practice in Louisville since l985.  She became a partner of AOG in l995.  After twenty years as a general obstetrician/gynecologist, she has decided to limit her practice to gynecology.

Dr. Beimfohr is one of ten children.  Although she is the only family member in the Louisville area, she feels richly blessed by the friendship and support of her local church family.  Dr. Beimfohr is actively involved in short-term missions and has been to Ukraine several times.  She also enjoys playing the violin and is continually seeking to improve her skills with private lessons.
